One Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash near Valley Boulevard
FONTANA, CA (September 30, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, David Mick was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Cherry Avenue.
The crash happened on September 24th, at around 5:00 a.m., at the 9800 block of Cherry Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, Mick was walking in the area between Valley Boulevard and San Bernardino Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The impact of the collision left Mick with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Responding officers arrived and declared 59-year-old David Mick of Fontana dead at the scene.
At this time, authorities have not yet released a description of the vehicle or hit-and-run driver involved. However, an active investigation remains ongoing. Police encourage anyone with further information about the crash to call officials as soon as possible.
