Pedestrian Accident on Sunnyside Avenue Left One Seriously Injured

CLOVIS, CA (June 22, 2022) – Authorities arrested 44-year-old David Lowndes after a DUI crash on Herndon Avenue, Monday evening.

According to authorities, the incident occurred just after 9:00 p.m. on Herndon and Sunnyside Avenues, involving a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.

Furthermore investigators said Lowndes, the driver of the vehicle, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Meanwhile, first responders transported the unidentified pedestrian to a nearby hospital in a critical condition

In the end, officers arrested and booked Lowndes under suspicion of DUI into Fresno County Jail.

Clovis officials closed a portion of Herndon Avenue for several hours as crews cleared out the roadway.
