Motorcycle Collision on South Las Vegas Boulevard Left One Fatality

LAS VEGAS, CA (February 10, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on Las Vegas Boulevard left David Leon Sowell dead Saturday night.

Officers responded before 7:20 p.m., at 2600 South Las Vegas Boulevard, near Circus Circus.

According to the preliminary report, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra attempted to turn left from Las Vegas Boulevard onto the driveway of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

There, the Hyundai collided with a 2018 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle heading south on Las Vegas Boulevard. Consequently, the impact ejected Sowell from his bike onto the road.

Paramedics arrived to the area and located Sowell laying unresponsive on the roadway. Medics later pronounced Sowell dead at UMC Trauma due to the extent of his condition.

Meanwhile, the 53-year-old female driver of the Hyundai stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police; she did not show any signs of impairment.

As of this time, an active investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.
