For those of you who have been pining for chef David LeFevre's cooking since he left Water Grill last year, you can now find it on the menu again. His own menu, at his first restaurant. LeFevre's Manhattan Beach Post (abbreviated to M.B. Post) opens today. As for why Manhattan Beach, it is where the chef has lived for the last half dozen years.

And yes, there's more then fish on LeFevre's menu: salt-roasted baby beets with Drake family farm chevre, and pistachio and beet green pesto; pomegranate couscous with lavender feta, marcona almonds and mint; Vietnamese caramel pork, with green papaya salad and lime; beluga lentil, shrimp and chorizo soup with yogurt, red onion and cilantro; spring garlic bacon tart with Bellwether ricotta, spiced honey and arugula; Moroccan bbq lamb belly with creamy semolina, Weiser Farm burgundy carrots; and chocolate cherry pudding cake with black cherry granita, and vanilla crème fraîche. Just to name a few: it's a long menu.

Look for communal tables upon which to eat some of the above, 30 wines by the glass and 100 on the bottle list, seasonal cocktails, craft beers and a nice marine layer — the restaurant is only a few blocks from the ocean.
