1 Killed, 2 Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash near Pleasant View Avenue

CORONA, CA (October 14, 2022) – Wednesday evening, a solo-vehicle accident on North Smith Avenue claimed the life of David Knoefler.

The fatal incident happened around 6:17 p.m., at the 100 block of North Smith Avenue, near Pleasant View Avenue. 

According to police, the driver of a 2009 BMW 328i was speeding when he lost control and and veered off the roadway. The BMW then struck a water valve for irrigation. 

The vehicle’s two passengers, a 36-year-old and a 51-year-old man sustained severe injuries. 

Meanwhile, the driver was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to the extent of his injuries. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 42-year-old Knoefler, of Riverside.
