62-Year-Old Man Dies and 33-Year-Old DUI Driver Arrested in Crash near Locust Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (January 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, 33-year-old David Grace was arrested after killing a male pedestrian in a DUI crash. The crash happened on December 31st, at around 5:20 p.m. near the 300 block of Market Street. According to reports, a 62-year-old man and his daughter were pushing a 1991 Dodge van out of the street when Grace, in a 2013 Lexus struck them. Officials state that Grace was traveling at high speed at the time of the incident. Afterward, responding officials transported the 62-year-old man to a nearby hospital where he later died. His daughter did not suffer any injuries. Meanwhile, police arrested 33-year-old David Grace on DUI charges. Additionally, crews blocked Market Street between Elm Avenue and Linden Avenue for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, further investigations are still underway.
