Pedestrian Accident on Mendocino Avenue Left San Luis Obispo Man Killed

SANTA ROSA, CA (March 21, 2022) – Police identified David Allen Wensloff as the victim of a crash on College Avenue Wednesday morning.

According to the report, the fatal incident happened around 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of College Avenue and Mendocino Avenue.

Furthermore, preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a westbound Toyota Rav4 struck Wensloff as he was walking north across College Avenue. As a result, Wensloff sustained life-threatening injuries.

Medics arrived and transferred Wensloff to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, authorities described the Toyota driver as a 26-year-old man from Santa Rosa. Although, authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the pedestrian crash.
