17-Year-Old Passenger Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Southern Avenue

MESA, AZ (March 22,2022) – Saturday, 17-year-old Darling Santos was pronounced dead after a motorcycle collision on County Club Drive.

According to reports, the driver of a van attempted to turn left into business and failed to yield to the motorcycle Santos was a passenger on.

As a result, the van and SUV collided, causing serious injuries to Santos. Medical personnel arrived and transported Santos to a local hospital where she eventually succumbed to her injuries.

In addition, the motorcycle driver and a passenger from inside the van sustained various injuries, but they were believed to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the others involved.

Following preliminary investigations, officers believe that impairment was not a factor in the deadly collision. Although, an active investigation is still ongoing.
