Man Fatally Struck in Head-On Collision near Cienega Boulevard

SANTA MONICA, CA (January 28, 2022) – A head-on crash on 10 Freeway claimed the life of Danny Silva Saturday morning.

According to the report, the collision occurred around 4:45 a.m., on eastbound Santa Monica Freeway, just west of La Cienega Boulevard.

Investigators later determined that a white 2018 Mazda MX5 Miata roadster collided head-on with a black 2021 Infiniti EX35 SUV.

In an attempt to avoid the collision, the SUV driver swerved to the right, however, it did not avoid a collision. Eventually, paramedics arrived and declared 27-year-old Silva dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old SUV driver sustained moderate injuries. Although, their identity has not yet been released.

Both directions of the roadway were shutdown for an unknown amount of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
