Traffic Accident on Superstition Boulevard Left Two Fatalities

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (April 18, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a collision on Ironwood Drive took the lives of Daniel Sitar and Valerie Lewis.

The traffic accident happened at around 6:30 p.m. at Ironwood Drive and Superstition Boulevard.

Furthermore, the two victims traveled on a three-wheeled motorcycle through the intersection.

Consequently, a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Robert Anderson ran a red light and struck the victims.

Eventually, Sitar and Lewis were pronounced dead at the scene, while Anderson was sent to Apache Junction hospital with unknown injuries but is expected to survive.

Moreover, per the initial investigation, police believed Anderson was impaired while driving.

The police said Anderson was still under investigation for possible charges.

An active investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
