Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash near Bonnie Beach Place Left 2 Children Hospitalized

VERNON, CA (January 12, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Daniel Gomez was killed, and three others were injured after a big rig crash in Vernon. The collision happened just before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Bandini Boulevard and Bonnie Beach Place. According to reports, a mustang and a big rig were traveling along the road when the Mustang became wedged underneath the big rig. The circumstances surrounding the big rig crash remain unclear. However, aerial footage of the scene showed that the force of the impact had sheared off the top of the Mustang. First responders arrived shortly after and pronounced 29-year-old Daniel Gomez dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported two children and one adult to a nearby trauma center for treatment of varying injuries. No further details regarding the Bandini Boulevard big rig crash have been released to the public. Vernon Officials will provide more information once available.
