Woman Arrested; 41-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Crash near Esmar Road
MODESTO, CA (January 27, 2023) – Late Tuesday, Kayla Espinoza was arrested and Daniel Garcia was killed in a DUI accident on Service Road.
Officers received dispatch calls around 11:40 p.m., near Esmar Road on December 13th.
Per reports, a man was operating a personal mobility device along the road with no lights. There, the driver of a Toyota sedan that was traveling at 65 mph struck him.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 41-year-old Garcia dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, police arrested 20-year-old Espinoza for driving under the influence of drugs.
