Two-Vehicle Crash Left One Dead in Parkview Place

PHOENIX, AZ (January 10, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a DUI crash on Bell Road claimed the life of 57-year-old Daniel Duran. The accident happened at around 2:00 a.m. on New Year’s day along Bell Road and Parkview Place. According to the State Patrol, Chalsey Brown was driving westbound on Bell Road when she rear-ended another vehicle which then struck a palm tree. First responders arrived and pronounced the second driver, Duran dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the suspect 29-year-old Brown continued and fled the scene, hitting other vehicles and a tree. Officers discovered she was driving while intoxicated; sobriety tests revealed she was three times the legal limit; and she refused to exit the vehicle. Police eventually arrested Brown charged with manslaughter and DUI.
