41-Year-Old Man Dead after Hit-and-Run Crash near Bell Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 5, 2022) – 41-year-old Daniel Callanta was killed in a hit-and-run crash, early Sunday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to the scene near Bell Road on October 2nd. 

According to reports, Even Alamos Santivanez was driving a vehicle when he struck Callanta in the area. Upon impact, Santivanez fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim. Medics arrived and transported Callanta to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers later located and arrested 21-year-old Santivanez with two counts of manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death.

According to Annalisa, Daniel’s friend, they were moving their carts when the vehicle struck them and drove away.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
