27-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Cesar Chavez Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 30, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, Daniel Badillo Chavez was killed in a pedestrian collision on 5 Freeway.

Police responded to the scene around 4:15 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Cesar Chavez Avenue on January 25th.

According to reports, Chavez was walking in the No. 2 lane of the freeway when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Medics arrived and pronounced 27-year-old Chavez, of Simi Valley dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
