House-music innovators, Sunset Junction after parties and downtown hipster hoedowns make for another wild week clubwise. Friday, U.K. radio fave and soulful house specialist Silky, a.k.a. “Seminal Grooves,” makes a rare L.A. appearance at Incognito, sharing the deck skills that have made him a fave of fellow floor shakers like Frankie Knuckles. Fri., Aug. 21;King King, 6555 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; 9:30 p.m.-4 a.m.; over 21; $10 ’til 11 with RSVP at incognitola.com. The Sunset Junction Street Fair will have thousands dancing in the streets this weekend, and Saturday, Paul V’s Neon Noise (moved from Medusa Lounge to the Echoplex) should be one of the more hustling after-fair hubs. Expect a music mix (electro, indie, mash-ups) as diverse as the crowd (straight, gay and everything in between). Sat., Aug. 22; Echoplex, 1154 Glendale Blvd., L.A.; over 18; $5; free with Sunset Junction stamp/wristband. myspace.com/neonnoise. Further east, the late crowd will surely flock to the third anniversary of Blow Up L.A., where cheeky Northern Cali electro-funksters Wallpaper offer a live set (as they did last year for the party’s 2nd-year bash). Also with Hottub live, DJs Richie Panic, Ben Oprstu (DANCEiSM), Tina T and others spinning, plus self-conscious posing galore courtesy of Shadowscene and Tommy B’s photobooth. Sat., Aug. 22. Location TBA. For more info, see myspace.com/blowupla.
