A wise wag once remarked that while always desirable, having live music for a dance performance is usually a financial, not an artistic, decision. Fortunately, the five choreographers presenting new contemporary choreography in a program dubbed Fusion have the luxury of music from such stellar composers as Bach, Mozart, Stravinsky, Debussy and Steve Reich performed live by a symphony orchestra. The contributing choreographers are Colleen Dunagan, Susan McLain, Sophie Monat, Lorin Johnston and Ledges and Bones' artistic director Holly Johnston. The performances also include a new dance film by Keith Johnson and Gregory Crosby.
