Dance club milestones offer two very different kinds of revelry Saturday night. On the hip-hop tip, Club Boombox marks four years blasting big in Chinatown with a set by revered NYC producer-DJ-rapper Pete Rock, known for his deft melds of jazz, rap, funk and breaks, both new and old. Shawn Jackson guest-hosts and spinners from the Boombox Soundsystem — Ink One (Beathackerz), Ben Diggin (Soul.Scienz) and One Man Jazz (Soul.Scienz) — spin, too. Grand Star Jazz Club, 943 N. Broadway, dwntwn.; Sat., Nov. 6. myspace.com/boomboxlosangeles. Equally old-school-driven, though worlds away genre-wise, the 21-year-old goth grind Helter Skelter rises from the dead once again with original DJs Michael Stewart (Disko Nekro), Amanda Jones (Malediction Society), Jason Lavitt (Coven 13), Jason Farber (Resurrection) and Bruce Perdew (Perversion) spinning a mystical and moody mix of dark music, heavy on vintage vamp beats. Dragonfly, 6510 Santa Monica Blvd., L.A.; Sat., Nov. 6. evilclubempire.com.
