Labor Day weekend always lives up to its name, doesn't it? Figuring out what to do is truly laborious, at least in L.A., where there's so much to choose from. FYF Fest and its pre- and post-parties will keep much of the city busy, but for those looking to freak out — rather than rock out — here's some reliable holiday dance ragers. Two circus-themed parties promise astounding thrills for partiers of all preferences. Cherry Pop, Mr. Black and Vice (club) offer Pop Circus, a gay/mixed night of pop, electro-pop and '90s sounds from DJs Josh Peace, Casey Alva, Nelstar and Saratonin. “Slutty naked clown boys & death defying aerials” also will be showcased. Music Box, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd., themusicbox.la. Miss Kitty's Circus offers its own riotous three-ring rager with stilt-walkers, fire-breathers and the Kit crew's enduringly naughty stage shows. Dragonfly, 6510 Santa Monica Blvd., Hlywd., misskittysparlour.com. Both clubs Fri., Sept. 3. Solid Gold, Echo Park's wild after-hours disco party, returns to mark its third anniversary and unveil a new loft location on Saturday. Original DJs Dorian, Chris Griffiths, Clifton and Klazzique spin a mad mix of Studio 54–ish boogie beats. If the usual crowd comes out, and we expect they will (especially after whatever else they're doing shuts down at 2 a.m.), this one will be a hedonistic, till-the-sun-comes-up underground extravaganza. Sat., Sept. 4, location TBA, solidgoldafterhours.com.
