KCRW DJ and Dublab contributor Anthony Valadez has had his groovin' night at Little Temple on Saturdays for a while now, and despite the name — Fast Fwd — it's a party you'll want to watch on “Play” mode and savor. Soul, classics, hip-hop, reggae, a little Latin and reggae make up the selections, and the selectors include DJ Destroyer, Jahkova and Tony V himself. Sound- and scene-wise, this one should offer a funky, slightly chill way to warm up and back into club rubbin'. Little Temple, 4519 Santa Monica Blvd., L.A.; Sat., Jan. 8; littletemple.com. For those who want to go more high-energy, Monday Night Social's got 2010 Grammy nominee Andy Caldwell on the decks along with Mac Clark (Low End Specialists) and a birthday set by Armen Ayj. Expect diverse house-music sounds infused with soul, jazz and even European techno touches. Playhouse, 6505 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Mon., Jan. 10; mondaysocial.com.
