The Music Box reveals its new “facelift” this weekend with two impressive nights of deft, dance-driven artists: Dutch DJ dynamo Sander Kleinenberg on Sat., March 20, and London ass-shakers Groove Armada, on Sun., March 21. Offering not only an opportunity to see the remodel — touted as a return to the theater's '20s splendor — these nights will put the space to the test as a dance venue. The revamped spot will be competing against both Hollywood Boulevard's newer slew of splashy Vegas-style nightclubs, plus old fave Avalon, which now has Giant's Dave Dean on board and is bringing out the big guns against the Box's opening night (John Digweed headlines Avalon Saturday). Insomniac Events (which co-promoted with Dean at Vanguard) seems to have what it takes to bring electronic biggies to Décor, the name of its Saturday-night weekly at the Box, and the competition should offer more choices for clubsters (and more congestion in Hollywood) than ever. Let the Saturday-night megaclub fights continue … The Music Box, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.
