57-Year-Old Truck Driver Killed in Crash near North Indian Canyon Drive

PALM SPRINGS, CA (March 7, 2022) – Friday night, Dalron McClain died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10, authorities said.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:04 p.m. on March 4th, just west of North Indian Canyon Drive.

Based on their initial investigation, CHP said that 57-year-old McClain of San Bernardino was driving his three-axle truck eastbound on I-10.

Due to circumstances still unknown, his truck that was towing two trailers struck a stationary car that was parked along the right shoulder of the road.

Afterwards, his truck went down the road’s embankment and overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle.

Medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Per their last update, CHP believed drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

While several gallons of diesel fuel spilled from the truck due to the incident, the spill did not affect traffic movement along the I-10.

An active investigation is currently ongoing.
