Michelle Carr probably is best known for co-founding the all-ages Arlington Heights punk club Jabberjaw, which famously booked bands including Nirvana, The Gits and Elliott Smith in the early 1990s. Jabberjaw closed in 1997, but that hasn't stopped Carr from throwing wild parties in unconventional L.A. venues. Now an artist-in-residence at the Lincoln Heights mansion – turned – art gallery Historical Monument #157 (she lives in an Airstream trailer in the backyard), Carr hosts the bimonthly Dadaismus, an interdisciplinary rager with two stages of experimental music, poetry and dance. Billed as an “Auditory Odyssey,” this Saturday's edition of Dadaismus features performances by goth rockers The Centimeters, noise experiment L.A. Drones and poets John Tottenham and Anna Homler, visual projections by The Mystery Machine and more. With appetizers, drinks and raffles, the party rages well into the morning, when Carr says artists “hang out, chill and hatch a revolution.” HM157, 3110 N.
