The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office Friday said it would file its case against Michael Jackson's physician Monday, an announcement that follows reports that the D.A. could not work out a deal with the doctor's attorneys about how he would surrender.

“Nothing will be filed today in the Michael Jackson death case,” stated D.A.'s spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. “A case will be filed on Monday, Feb. 8, at the Airport Court, 11701 S. La Cienega Blvd. Information on charges and the scheduled arraignment at the Airport Court will be released after the case is filed.”

It has been widely reported that Conrad Murray, who was with Jackson in the hours before he died, is likely to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the pop star's death in June.

KNX 1070 Newsradio was reporting Friday morning that there was a jurisdictional dispute between the D.A.'s office and the Los Angeles Police Department about how Murray would surrender to authorities to face possible charges. The D.A.'s office, it said, was amenable to having Murray appear without having to do a “perp walk” in handcuffs before reporters, while the LAPD was said to want to arrest him in public — as it would handle any other suspect.

Murray is reported to have injected Jackson with propofol — a powerful drug that is supposed to only be used in medical facilities — before the King of Pop's death. The county coroner's office ruled Jackson's death a homicide and cited propofol as a factor in Jackson's demise.
