45-Year-Old Woman Runs Stop Light on 79th Avenue
PEORIA, AZ (August 22, 2022) – Saturday night, 45-year-old Cynthia Tapper was pronounced dead after running a red light on Cactus Road.
The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m., at the intersection of 79th Avenue and Cactus Road. Per reports, Tapper was driving and ran through a stop light, striking a black SUV that had the right of way.
Upon impact, Tapper was ejected from her vehicle onto the road. Paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital for further treatment, where she was later pronounced dead.
Following preliminary investigations, police say Tapper was not wearing a seat belt at the time. Officers are also still investigating to determine if DUI played a factor.
The SUV driver that was struck did not suffer any serious injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
