One Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Hit-and-Run Crash near Mount Vernon Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 10, 2023) – Late Monday night, one cyclist was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision on East Brundage Lane.

Police responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m., just east of Mount Vernon Avenue on April 3rd.

Per reports, a bicyclist was heading west on Brundage Lane when the driver of a westbound vehicle struck him.

Upon arrival, officers located the cyclist down on the highway with serious injuries. Although, the involved driver fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. However, investigators have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Following preliminary duties, it was still unclear if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors. At this time, an active investigation to determine more information is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal hit-and-run collision on East Brundage Lane.
