One Victim Killed in Bicycle Collision on Hayes Avenue

FRESNO, CA (June 27, 2022) – Thursday evening, one victim was pronounced dead after a bicycle accident on West Shaw Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene just before 9:00 p.m., at the intersection of West Shaw Avenue and Hayes Avenue.

Investigators said that an eastbound SUV approached the intersection at a stop sign. There, a bicyclist rode directly in the path of the SUV on Hayes Avenue, and collided with the vehicle.

Upon arrival, authorities located a man in their 20s to early 30s lying at the intersection. Eventually, medical responders arrived and declared the cyclist dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

At this time, the deceased victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. In addition, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
