0 4 1In the wake of the Atlanta shootings and the recent surge in violence against Asian-Americans,  popular striptease group, the Cyber Clown Girls, wanted to do something targeted to raise awareness and money for charities that deal with this pervasive problem. The group has always been driven by a charitable component and has donated over $25,000 to 70+ organizations, nonprofits & causes over the past year. (Read more about them in our cover story from last Summer here).
For their latest show, the multi-racial troupe highlights its Asian performers (Riv, Kumiko, Coco Ono, Tiffany, Poor Baby, Mina Karenina and guests) in streamed format, each with a bold brand of dance and vibe. The tragic Atlanta events highlight a growing concern in the post-Trump COVID era, but they also seem to underline other forms of bias against women and sex work, two issues this group have worked hard to combat through art, movement and fundraising.
Saturday’s show will provide donations to the Butterfly Asian and Migrant SW Network (formed by sex workers, social workers, legal and health professionals to advocate for the rights of Asian and migrant sex workers) and the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (Georgia Chapter) which seeks to empower AAPI women and girls.  Sat., Match 20, 8-11 p.m. PST.
