Around Thanksgiving, more than any other holiday, we think about food. (And not just what we plan to serve alongside the turkey.) We're grateful for food, and we think more consciously about those who don't have enough food, and those who don't have access to good quality food, and are suffering because of it.

It's all the more appropriate, then, that starting yesterday through Nov. 20, Current TV is airing Currently: Feeding the Need, in which programming that focuses on hunger, undernutrition and obesity in this country will be woven into the network's lineup of shows.

“Hunger, malnutrition and obesity affect millions of Americans of all ages,” says Current CEO and co-founder Joel Hyatt in a press release. “Because we believe these issues are important to our viewers, we are focusing attention on them in all our programming.” He adds, “Along with our partner organizations, who each bring tremendous knowledge and commitment to addressing these issues, we at Current hope to increase awareness and action on alleviating hunger and obesity in America.”

Also, per the release:

All of Current's morning and primetime programs will feature segments highlighting these topics between November 13th and November 21st. Notable guests include: Dr. Dean Ornish (11/16), a leading expert on using food to prevent disease, on “The Gavin Newsom Show;” Chef Michael Symon (ABC's “The Chew”) (11/13) and Chef Alex Guarnaschelli (Food Network's “Chopped”) (11/15) on “Joy Behar: Say Anything!;” celebrity chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck (11/13) and Chef Mary Sue Milliken (11/15) on “The Young Turks;” Rep.
