Culver City has developed a pretty sweet restaurant row over the last couple of years, and this summer the neighborhood is capitalizing on that fact by hosting a series of block parties. Starting June 16th and repeating the third Wednesday of every month until October, the Culver City Downtown Business Association and over two dozen local restaurants and businesses will have a three-hour party from 5 – 8 p.m. on the nights in question. Free stuff, live music, restaurant specials and the obligatory free pole-dancing lessons. Not kidding about that last one.

At Ford's Filling Station, Ben Ford will have a clam bake with a band from 5:30 to 10:30. Whole lobsters. Caja China wood pig boxes for them to go into. Apparently the lobster bibs are already on their way. Among the others participating restaurants: Akasha (1/2 off all wines), Bottlerock ($4 specials), Fraiche (free sangria), Le Saint Amour (TBA special), Gyenari (all night happy hour) M Cafe (free wine tasting) and Rush Street (that pole dancing). Wear your espadrilles, your Bermuda shorts, that lobster bib, and whatever outfit is required for pole dancing.
