Next Wednesday, June 20, Culver City restaurants will be celebrating the official start of the summer season and the opening of the Culver City station on the Metro's Expo Line by putting a little something-something in their fresh-squeezed lemonades.

Starting at 5 p.m., guests of drinking age can get free samples and vote for their favorite versions of the drinks while being entered to win prizes and gift packages at Culver City businesses. Another bonus: Rides along the Expo Line will be free all day, meaning if you plan things right, you won't have to worry about driving home afterward.

So what are downtown Culver bartenders shaking up for the event? Kay 'n Dave's is promising a Oaxacan mezcal lemonade; Rocco's is working on a Jersey Shore-inspired recipe; and Seventy 7 Lounge is creating a version made with freshly crushed black cherries.
