With their polished technique and fiery performance style, alumni of the National Ballet of Cuba now star in top ballet companies all over the world. With this rare tour, Southland dance fans have two chances to see the company that continues to spawn world-class dancers. The opening week in Orange County offers six performances of a mixed bill under the banner “The Magic of Dance,” with excerpts and pas de deux from 19th-century classics including Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Don Quixote. Next week, the full-length Don Quixote is the calling card as the company moves to the Music Center of Los Angeles County for six more shows.
