With all the festival cancellations in the past several days, it seemed the only one Gen-X Angelenos really cared about was the Cruel World Fest. This week though, Goldenvoice and AEG have been fairly silent about the fate of the new-wave/Goth-heavy music gathering featuring Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie, Devo and many more.

The comments section of the festival’s Facebook invite has seen a lot of speculation, but savvy music fans noticed a new date for those who sign up for the waiting list as of today, Wednesday, March 18. According to the Cruel World website, the date has been changed from May 2 to September 12. This date was indicated when we checked today at 3 p.m.

L.A. Weekly reached out to PR representatives for Goldenvoice/AEG and can confirm the new date. This gives music fans something big to look forward to even before Coachella, which was rescheduled from the weekends of April 10 and April 19 to the weekends of October 9 and October 16.

Meanwhile Punk Rock Bowling, which was due to take place on Memorial Day weekend, has also been postponed until the fall. No confirmed dates yet, but we’ll announce them when we get them. We’re also on top of any changes that might be announced for Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), which are highly likely at this point.
