A COVID-19 vaccination site was opened at Union Station Tuesday, marking the fifth site L.A. Metro has opened at its stations across the county.

The site will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the site located on the top of the escalator at the East portal.

“… now Union Station will be a place that can help us recover from this most traumatic year of our lives,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said at Union Station Tuesday. “The idea of the clinic here at the east portal of Union Station… is that folks can stop, get the shot before catching your bus, subway or train to get where you’re going and nobody should need a car to access the vaccine.”

While the station popup site is taking appointments on the Carbon Health website, walkups will also be allowed to get vaccinated. For those who use the Metro app, appointments can be made through there, as well.

The popup can be reached through the “B/D” and “L” lines— which were formerly the red and gold lines— the Metrolink and Amtrak.

All three of the vaccines will be available, with the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson brands being offered to adults 18 and older, and the Pfizer vaccine being authorized for everyone 12 years old and up.

As with all L.A. County vaccine sites, there is no requirement to show proof of residency or citizenship, but a form of identification will be needed. As all COVID-19 vaccines, it will be free and no insurance is necessary.
