Opening Friday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m., Cousins Maine Lobster evolved from food truck to brick-and-mortar in a mere five months, as a response to hundreds of customer requests. Housed within Pasadena's Live Mixx lounge, the shellfish-centric brand, known for serving fresh lobster and crab delivered daily from Maine — within 24 hours of arrival — is taking over the kitchen and adding new decor and tables. The 175-person capacity space is a stone's throw from Barney's Beanery.

“We will feature new Maine dishes including fried clams, clam chowder, gourmet lobster mac and cheese (with asiago and cheddar), lobster BLT and other surprises,” says co-owner Jim Tselikis. “Enjoy the same things you've grown to love from our truck. Come celebrate with us, because without you, there is no us,” Tselikis and cousin Sabin Lomac posted on the grand opening Facebook invite.

Pasadena seemed a natural fit for the cousins: Quaint retail shops lining the streets of Old Town reminded them of the East Coast cities where they grew up. The restaurant and bar are laid-back and friendly, says Tselikis, in the style of “Maine lobster shacks.” And for hard-core fans, there's lobster ice cream.

Business hours are Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.
