Name check off the top: M.I.A. stars in the great video above, which features an amazing dance move that we around here have dubbed The Flop. It's easy to do: Just jump in the air, move your body horizontal to the ground, and land flat and hard. The chicks totally dig this move. Another variation: stand solid and straight. Then slowly tip to the right, and keep going until you land on the ground. It's important to keep your body straight and firm the whole time. (The best examples in the above video arrive at 2:40.) Very impressive.

“Sound of Kuduro” put Buraka Som Sistema, a Lisbon-based dance collective, on the map, and quickly spread across the globe. It's a funky sound (as you can tell), and should echo across the polo grounds during Coachella, which takes place April 17-19 in Indio. Below is a remix for the group's “Kalemba,” fudged with by Hot Chip. Highly recommended.
