Councilman Dennis Zine will put on his Los Angeles Police Department reservist's uniform and participate in a task force targeting graffiti taggers in his own district in the West Valley Tuesday morning.

The task force, which will include Gang Intervention Team officers, will check up on people “who are on probation for graffiti related vandalism offenses,” according to the LAPD. The officers will do “probation compliance checks” and haul in taggers who are found to be in violation of the terms of their probation.

As many as 15 locations will be checked out by two teams, each with its own probation officer. It starts at 5 a.m. and the media was invited to come along, so we're predicting there will be some footage of Zine in a blue uniform on television newscasts tomorrow.
