Pedestrian Collision on Highway 184 Kills One

LAMONT, CA (June 24, 2022) – 49-year-old Corina Aguilar lost her life after a pedestrian accident on Highway 184 last Tuesday.

The incident took place southbound on Highway 184 around 10:00 p.m. on June 21st, according to Lamont Officials.

California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene after the report of a driver traveling at least 55mph struck a woman that stepped into traffic for unknown reasons.

Due to the impact of the collision, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified the victim as Aguilar, 49, of Lamont.

Emergency crews said the driver, Enrique Torres, and his passenger, Rosa Cabrera, escaped the crash uninjured.

At this time, Lamont authorities ask anyone who has further information to contact them immediately.

Following the investigation, police did not consider drugs and alcohol to be factors in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
