The Los Angeles Police Department and other area agencies are bringing the heat this weekend. The warm weather will undoubtedly draw party people to the boulevards, and cops will be on the lookout for drunk drivers.

They say that publicizing checkpoints and other DUI operations could dissuade you from getting behind the wheel after one too many. And this, cops argue, saves lives.

Here's your warning, via local cops:

Tonight from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. a checkpoint will be expecting you on Vermont Avenue and 135th Street in Harbor Gateway.

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. a checkpoint will be up and running on Western Avenue and Eighth Street in Koreatown.

Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies will be staffing a checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city of Palmdale.

Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. extra police will hit the streets of Pasadena in search of drunk drivers. Cops call this a saturation patrol.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will be operating a checkpoint on Van Nuys Boulevard at Roscoe Boulevard in Panorama City.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. checkpoint action will be happening on Ventura Boulevard at Columbus Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. a DUI saturation patrol will hit the street's of the Eastside's Hollenbeck Division, which includes Boyle Heights.
