As many as three people were detained for questioning today in the shocking double homicide of teenagers whose bodies were found in a Northeast Los Angeles park last month.

“There were several people detained,” said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Ricardo Hernandez, “but I don't know how many people they kept.”

Cops descended early this morning on several locations not far from Ernest E. Debs Regional Park, where the bodies of 19-year-old Gabriela Calzada and 17-year-old Briana Gallegos were found near a path by a passerby Oct. 28.

Search warrants were served, but details such as exact locations and the time of the action were not made available by police. ABC Los Angeles reported that at least some of the targets were on Galeena Street, which is just a block or so from Ernest E. Debs Regional Park.

Police made no arrests “today,” Los Angeles Police Department Commander Andrew Smith told us.

The teens were friends, an acquaintance told us, and some neighbors told television reporters today that the duo had been seen around at least one of the neighborhoods where a search warrant was served.

Authorities told us detectives have found no links to the murders of another pair of Northeast L.A. young women,  22-year-old Bree'Anna Guzman and 17-year-old Michelle Lozano, a few years ago.

Those two earlier homicides were connected to each other, however, authorities said.

Reports indicate the latest murder cases possibly involved gunfire and blunt-force trauma.

Calzada had recently completed a city-sponsored Gang Reduction Youth Development gang-intervention program and was planning to become a firefighter.
