Car Accident near Elk Road Left Conrad James Dead

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 6, 2021) – 38-year-old Conrad James Sivits lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Taft Highway Monday morning.

The collision happened around 9:14 a.m., on westbound Taft Highway near Elk Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, Sivits was driving a pick-up truck when, for unclear reasons, veered into the opposite lanes. As a result, he collided head-on with a dump truck.

Due to the impact of the collision, responding officers declared Sivits dead at the scene. However, officials have no information of the condition of the other driver.

At the time, police are still looking at potential factors leading up to the collision.
