68-Year-Old Driver Arrested after Multi-Vehicle DUI Collision on La Canada Drive
TUCSON, AZ (July 7, 2023) – Tuesday evening, two victims were hurt and Conrad Ahrens was arrested after a DUI crash on West Sunset Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., near La Canada Drive on July 4th.
Per reports, 68-year-old Ahrens was driving a Jeep Wrangler northbound recklessly and eventually rear-ended another vehicle. He then continued driving south in the northbound lanes of La Canada Drive and struck another car.
Amidst the chaos, the Jeep ended up on its side and Ahrens exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.
Following preliminary duties, officers located and arrested Ahrens. Police booked him into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex with two counts of aggravated assault, wrong-way DUI, felony criminal damage and hit-and-run.
In addition, paramedics took two victims to a nearby hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.
