74-Year-Old Woman Dies in Auto Collision on Katie Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 16, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon Connie Sheets was killed in a car accident on South Jones Boulevard.

Las Vegas Police said the crash took place in the 3800 block of South Jones Boulevard, around 2:09 p.m.

According to reports, the driver of a southbound black Chevrolet Cruz was speeding, approaching Katie Avenue. For reasons unknown, the Chevy then struck a northbound black Hyundai Sonata.

The driver of the Hyundai died at the scene, while the other two people involved sustained minor injuries. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 74-year-old Sheets, of Las Vegas.

All remaining occupants of both vehicles were transported to the UMC trauma with various injuries.

The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

At this time, further circumstances surrounding the deadly crash remain under active investigation.
