Two Hospitalized and Two Suspects Arrested after a Two-Vehicle Hit-and-Run Incident

SPOKANE, WA (August 17, 2023) – Late Monday night, Conner McDougall and Kaden Mackowiak were hospitalized following a deadly collision. The incident took place on August 14th, at around 11:30 p.m., in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. Investigation showed that a 2008 Honda Accord and a 2010 Acura TSX collided in the area. The Accord was driven by 22-year-old Dustyn Forrest with 21-year-old Gabriel Aparicio, and the Acura was occupied by 21-year-old McDougall and 22-year-old Mackowiak. According to reports, both vehicles were headed west when the Accord cut in front of the Acura. This causes the Honda to strike the guardrail and rollover. The Acura continued to veer off the road and slammed into a bridge abutment. Moreover, Forrest and Aparicio drove away from the scene after causing the incident. Officers later found them. Paramedics arrived at the location after and transported McDougall and Mackowiak to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment.
