“A group of Arabs are planning to take over the Comedy Store,” warns Palestinian-blooded Dean Obeidallah (pictured). Fortunately the comedian and his cohorts'weapon of choice is words, and funny ones at that. Fresh from kicking off an international tour at Washington, DC's sold-out Lisner Theater and prior to a run in the Middle East, Arabs Gone Wild makes a one-night-only LA stop for a showcase including performances by Obeidallah (The View), Aron Kader (The Carson Daly Show), Maysoon Zayid (Comedy Central), Maria Shehata (Showtime), Comedy Store regular Noel Elgrably, Mike Batayeh (You Don't Mess with the Zohan), Ronnie Khalil (Late Night with Conan O'Brien), Eman (Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival) and national headliner Jimmy Goson. The event is produced by the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival and answers the question, posed by Obeidallah, “'Arab comedy': Oxymoron or wave of the future?”
