The comedy group Women – which actually is made up of four men, Dave Ross, Allen Strickland Williams, Pat Bishop and Jake Weisman – makes sketch videos poking fun at death. In one, a murderous wife shares a joint with a coroner; in another, a guy answers the cellphone of his roommate, whose head happens to be resting in the oven. A game of musical chairs ends when each player gets shot to death; an old-fashioned road trip turns out to be a mass suicide. Given their dark sense of humor, it's only appropriate that Women hosts tonight's Comedy Is Dead in the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where they'll be performing live skits in between stand-up comedy from Adult Swim star Brett Gelman, former Mr. Show writer Karen Kilgariff, Upright Citizens Brigade founding member Matt Besser and a gaggle of to-die-for comedians including Natasha Leggero, who spends most of her time not in cemeteries but in hot tubs, thanks to her web series Tubbin' With Tash. Comedy Is Dead is a sort of resurrection – the last one was held more than two years ago, with headliners Sarah Silverman and Tim Heidecker – which means this show's got a lot to live up to. Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd., Hlywd.; Fri., June 6, 8 p.m.; $20. (323) 469-1181, hollywoodforever.com.
