LA Weekly David Shine

Being a comedian is not easy. After all, different people have different ideas and perspectives as to what they find funny, and some jokes can simply end up as a swing and a miss. Given this, always making audiences laugh is an indication of real and natural talent. And when it comes to consistently putting a smile on people’s faces, one gifted individual stands out—David Shine.

He is a stand-up comedian based in New York known for his unique comedic style that combines energetic and goofy with a dash of intelligence. His quick wit allows him to land solid punchlines and side-splitting jokes that result in roaring laughter from the crowd.

However, what catapulted him to the forefront of the entertainment scene was his funny and original music, including the viral music video “Stud Luv.” Because of its incredible replay value mixed with humor, the track spread like wildfire and eventually caught the attention of the mogul and comedian Nick Cannon. The actor was so impressed with the young man’s talent that he made David a cast member on the hit VH1 Television show Wild’ N Out.

This time, however, the stand-up comic has released yet another one of his hilarious compositions. The new single is called “Sunday Sermon,” which features his signature style of humor. The goofy and refreshing music video is guaranteed to make a lot of people laugh.

After seeing the video, fans and viewers alike have commended the entertainer for his ability to create funny songs, but also his excellent rap skills. The success of the new track and its music video is a testament to David Shine’s unrivaled prowess as a musician, actor, and comedian. It has undoubtedly solidified his reputation as the next generation’s most promising act.

When asked what motivates him to create such top-tier comedy creations, the insightful individual explained, “Anyone can make a funny song, but it’s a small window of artists who make songs that you can listen to over again. Not listen to it one time like ‘I get it ha-ha,’ and that’s it.”

He went on to say, “Biz Markie’s ‘Just a Friend’ is a song that’s funny but iconic. Slim Shady, Lil Dicky, The Lonely Island—there’s more but those are a few off the top of my head who are heavy hitters who make funny songs with replay value. My goal is to always make a good song first that’s funny. It’s a way more open lane, and I’m trying to make it mine as a way to gain attention comedically.”

Moving forward, David Shine intends to scale his success even further and break out into the mainstream. He hopes to be acknowledged as a household name, go on tours, and appear in movies and television shows. To accomplish this, the go-getter intends to continue his work and leverage his talent for creating catchy songs with massive replay value and do stand-up comedy. But more than anything, the certified funny man plans to continue pursuing his passion of making people laugh, one joke at a time.
