Traffic Accident near Tucson Circle Left One Fatality
PALM DESERT, CA (August 23, 2022) – 29-year-old Colton Byrd died in a motorcycle collision on Washington Street Monday morning.
The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. along Washington Street and Tucson Circle, per initial reports.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports about a collision involving a motorcycle, although the main events that led to the crash remain unknown.
Responding officials arrived and declared Byrd dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed another person to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. At this time, the name and condition of the second victim were not released.
Police closed the area for several hours and rerouted the traffic as crews cleared the wreck.
Furthermore, the family and friends of the victim made a GoFundMe page to help with his funeral expenses.
An active investigation is currently underway. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
