Alameda County Man Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Interstate 80
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 10, 2022) – 34-year-old Colin Rumbold was killed early Tuesday morning, in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., near the connector to Interstate 80.
Investigators said a motorcycle driven by Rumbold crashed while trying to avoid a Nissan sedan that was stopped on I-80. The impact ejected Rumbold before he landed about 40 feet down the freeway.
Additionally, Rumbold landed on a Honda sedan going westbound on I-80 towards the connector ramp. There, the driver of a Subaru Forester rear-ended the Honda.
Due to the impact of the collision, Rumbolt succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, officials arrested both Nissan and Subaru drivers for suspicion of DUI.
