Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Accident near Hermosa Drive

TEMPE, AZ (March 2, 2022) – Saturday, Cole Descheny was killed and Hector Duarte was arrested after a hit-and-run collision.

Per authorities, the accident happened near McClintock and Hermosa Drive.

Reports indicate that the driver of a dark Camaro was heading north and struck Descheny, who was crossing the street at the time.

Due to the impact of the collision, medics transported 23-year-old Descheny to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, police located the suspect, 19-year-old Duarte, who was in the process of reconditioning and fixing his vehicle. Authorities arrested him on Tuesday for felony hit-and-run causing death and tampering with the evidence.

At this time, an investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
